Recommended Google Ads Setup: Manager Account (MCC)

How we recommend structuring Google Ads accounts across a franchise network with one HQ-owned manager account, and how each account links to Flamel.

Our Recommendation

We recommend your HQ create one

owned by corporate. Each owner then gets their own Google Ads account underneath it. Corporate can manage every account, and each one links to the matching workspace in Flamel.

What's an MCC?

An MCC works like a folder that holds many Google Ads accounts. When you sign in, you can see and manage every account inside it.

  • It doesn't run ads itself. Ads always live in the individual accounts underneath it, often called child accounts or sub-accounts.
  • One login. HQ can reach every location's account without separate passwords.
  • Flexible billing. Each child account can have its own card.

Why We Recommend It

  • Corporate owns everything. HQ keeps ownership of every location's Google Ads account, even when a location is transferred, merged, or closed.
  • Billing fits each owner. Each location can pay with its own card.
  • Easy to grow. A new location is just a new child account plus a new Flamel workspace.
  • Location owners keep their access. Users added to a location's own account can still sign in and use it as usual. They can't see the MCC or any other location's account.

How It Works With Flamel

The rule of thumb: one Google Ads child account for each card that pays for ads.

ScenarioIn Google Ads (under your MCC)In Flamel
A location wants Google AdsCreate one child account, such as "[Brand] [Location]"Link it to that location's workspace
A location runs a second program on a separate card, such as franchise development or recruiting adsCreate a second child account, such as "[Brand] [Location] Franchise Development"Create a separate workspace for that program and link the new account to it. This keeps the program's radius and targeting separate from the location's normal ads.
One owner, several locations, one cardCreate one child account for the owner, such as "[Brand] [Location 1], [Location 2]", with their card on itLink that one account to each of the owner's location workspaces
One owner, several locations, a separate card for eachCreate a child account for each location, each with its own cardLink each account to its own location workspace
