Connection expired
Why social connections expire and how to reconnect fast.
Who can do this
This guide is written for Workspace owners. Hub admins can also reconnect a workspace's account by switching into that workspace's context first.
Why connections expire
A social connection drops when the platform can no longer trust the access Flamel was granted. The most common causes:
- You changed your social account password.
- The platform ran a security review.
- The platform pushed a policy update.
- The account sat inactive for 60 to 90 days (LinkedIn is the strictest here).
- You lost your admin role on the Page or profile.
In every case except losing admin access, the fix is the same: reconnect. If you lost your admin role, get that role back first, then reconnect.
How you will notice
- A red badge appears in Connected Accounts.
- You get a failed-post notification.
- A dashboard alert flags the broken connection.
Reconnect a single account
Open Connected Accounts

Go to Manage, then Connected Accounts. Any expired connection shows a red badge.
Click Reconnect on the red account
Flamel redirects you to the platform's login screen.
Log in as the admin first
Before you click Reconnect, make sure you are already signed into the correct admin account for that Page or profile in the same browser. This avoids re-authorizing under the wrong account.
Log in and re-authorize Flamel
Complete the same login and permissions flow you used when you first connected the account.
Confirm scheduled posts retry
Once the connection is restored, any posts that failed while it was down retry automatically. No need to reschedule them by hand.
Per-platform tips
| Platform | Note |
|---|---|
| Facebook and Instagram | Be logged into the admin account before clicking Reconnect |
| Tokens expire after 1 year; you need Company Page admin access | |
| TikTok | Confirm you are in the right TikTok account |
| X | Reconnect after any password change |
Reduce future disruptions
- Avoid changing social passwords casually.
- Glance at Connected Accounts once a week.
- Keep notifications on so you catch connection alerts early.
- Keep your admin roles on the business Pages and profiles.
If reconnect keeps failing
Remove the account, then add it fresh
Delete the connection entirely from Connected Accounts and add it again from scratch, rather than reusing the broken one.
Confirm admin access on the Page or Company Page
You can only reconnect an account you administer. Verify your admin role on the platform itself.
Try an incognito browser window
A clean browser session avoids stale logins or cached sessions for a different account.
Check the platform's status page
The outage may be on the platform's side. Confirm their API is healthy before retrying.
