Instagram (#10): Account Not Connected
Instagram post failed with (#10) Application does not have permission for this action. Reconnect and select the account and its Page.
Error: (#10) Application does not have permission for this action
Your Instagram post failed even though the connection still looks green. The Instagram account was never granted to Flamel at login. Reconnect and select the account and its linked Page:
Do you see a 'Needs page access' badge?
Flamel now flags Instagram accounts whose linked Facebook Page it cannot post through. Look for a Needs page access badge on the account in the account picker, and a warning on the sync toast instead of a false success message. When a post hits this error, Flamel marks the connection for reconnect instead of silently retrying. Follow the steps below to grant the Page.
Switch into the affected workspace and open studio.flamel.ai/accounts.
On the Facebook and Instagram accounts, click ... then Remove Account.
Click Connect Facebook and sign in with an admin of the Page your Instagram account is linked to.
Choose Opt in to all current and future Pages and Instagram accounts, and confirm both your Page and your Instagram account are checked. Instagram cannot connect without its Page.
Back in Flamel, confirm the account shows green, then reschedule the post.
The Instagram account must be a Business or Creator account linked to a Facebook Page. Facebook access is global per login, so selecting fewer Pages or accounts removes the rest across all your workspaces.
Account not showing up? Check Meta Business Suite
If the Instagram account or its Page never appears on Facebook's selection screen when you reconnect, the problem is on the Meta side: the account, its Page, and your Facebook login are not linked together yet. Flamel can only see what Meta grants your login, so reconnecting again will not change anything until these three checks pass.
Confirm the Instagram account is a professional account. In the Instagram app, go to Settings and privacy, then Account type and tools. If you see Switch to professional account, the account is still personal and cannot be connected. Follow Meta's guide: Set up a professional Instagram account.
Confirm the Instagram account is linked to a Facebook Page. In the Instagram app, open Edit profile and check Page under Public business information, or in Meta Business Suite go to Settings, then Accounts, then Instagram accounts and check for a connected Page. A brand-new location often skips this step. Follow Meta's guide: Add or change the Facebook Page connected to your Instagram professional account.
Confirm your Facebook login can manage that Page. In Meta Business Suite, go to Settings, then Accounts, then Pages and make sure the Page is listed in your business portfolio. If it is not, add it, or have whoever controls the Page grant your Facebook profile access with Full control (or at least content permissions). Follow Meta's guides: Add a Facebook Page to your business portfolio and Add people to a business portfolio and assign a business asset.
Once all three checks pass, reconnect in Flamel using the steps above. The Page and Instagram account will now appear on Facebook's selection screen.
Someone else controls the Page?
If another person or business owns the location's Page, they can either grant your profile access in Meta Business Suite (step 3 above) or connect the Page in Flamel themselves with their own Facebook login.
